How to Setup Your Privafy CloudEdge

Before you Begin

  • Obtain AMI image
    • Share Account with Privafy
    • Verify AMI was published to your AWS Account
      • Note: We are publishing to the AWS and other stores and this requirement will go away
  • Create and send yourself a CloudEdge Activation Code
    • Reference Privafy Central “Create CloudEdge Activation Code” instruction
  • Privafy provides a Detailed Deployment Guide (contact support@) that provides granular step-by-step instructions based on multiple deployment methods
  • This will show how to deploy using the Amazon AWS Wizard

Installation Guide

Step 1

Identify the Privafy CloudEdge Image EC2/ ​IMAGES/AMIs

Step 2

Verify the source of the image and Launch

 

Step 3

Select “General purpose ​t2.medium”​ instance

Step 4

Configure Instance Details

Step 5

Configure the network Interfaces and other instance Details – Ensure that the CloudEdge VPC is chosen and the Internet facing Subnet is chosen as subnet

Step 6

Provide Your Activation Code

Step 7

Add Storage as 8 GB on Next Screen

Click on “​Review and Launch​” button

Change default route of ​Enterprise​ facing route table to eth1 interface of the CloudEdge

 

 

Step 2

Create a new DHCP Option Set for your VPC

Associate the new DHCP Options Set to the CloudEdge VPC

Update the CloudEdge Instance Security Group

Add a new rule allowing your enterprise facing subnet and verify it was successful

Disable Check Source/Dest Check at the Instance and ​eth1

Click on ​eth1​ and then Interface ID (Enterprise facing/Private Subnet) in the information pane​.

Allocate Internet facing IP for the Instance

Associate the newly created Elastic ID with the Instance

At this time your instance is fully configured and ready to be used. You or an admin that manages the Privafy Dashboard should be able to see your newly deployed CloudEdge and Activate as shown below.
